Overview
Color weekends (or any other day) in Google Calendar
Gives the days of the week their own background color in Google calendar. By default, this sets the background color of "Saturday" and "Sunday" to light gray and leaves weekdays white. Very simple, and currently English only (it has English week day names hard-coded). Source is at https://github.com/msteffen/gcal-gray-weekends, where you can report bugs as well.
