How it works: 💻 Safer browsing, searching, and shopping By using Avast Safe Search, you can avoid potentially websites, online scams, and identity theft. You’ll get alerts right away if you’ve landed on a dangerous website. 🔒 Protection against online threats Avast Safe Search helps you reduce the risk of falling victim to phishing attacks or downloading potential malware. Setting Avast Safe Search as your default browser actively monitors potentially harmful websites, ensuring you only interact with safe and secure websites. ❇️ Peace of mind while browsing Avast Safe Search will let you know if a site is potentially dangerous before you visit them, making it easier for you to know if a site is trustworthy—letting you browse with confidence. Terms This extension uses permissions that produce the following Chrome messages to perform necessary functions within the extension. “Read and change all your data on the websites you visit” Shown for permissions needed for detecting online risks on all types of pages you browse. “Read your browsing history” Shown for permissions needed for creation and management of tabs and information from the extension’s installation page. Displaying site safety rating information reliably during tab manipulations by Chrome or the user. “Display notifications” Shown for permissions needed for showing alerts when important changes happen for protection activity or when authentication is required for certain features. “This extension can read and change your data on sites. You can control which sites the extension can access.” Shown for permissions needed for exchange of configuration information for performing safety markup on search results. “Change your search settings to bing.com” Shown for permissions needed for delivery of search results through the Avast Safe Search service.
