When you open or refresh the dashboard, it compares current declared permissions with the last review snapshot stored on your device. Privacy: Everything is processed locally. 9K Extension Bodyguard does not scan websites, read page content, collect browsing history, read cookies, monitor live browsing behavior, contact remote servers, use analytics, make AI calls, or show ads. Requested permissions: • management — reads installed extension names, versions, enabled state, icons, install type, declared permissions, and site access so the dashboard can explain them locally. • storage — saves local notes, trust marks, language preference, welcome state, and review snapshots on this device. • alarms — schedules local extension checks and toolbar badge refreshes. No data is transmitted. Limitations: 9K Extension Bodyguard evaluates declared permissions and site access, not live behavior. It does not verify developer reputation, classify an extension as objectively safe or unsafe, detect malware, block attacks, or provide real-time protection.
