Overview

Mobile proxy manager for the free 8Proxy phone app: rotating IP addresses, one-click IP rotation, HTTP/SOCKS proxy switching.

8PROXY is the Chrome companion for the free 8Proxy Android app, which lets Chrome use your phone's mobile data connection as a proxy. It also manages any HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4 or SOCKS5 proxy you add yourself. USE YOUR PHONE AS A PROXY • Install the 8Proxy app on an Android phone on the same Wi-Fi network. The extension finds the phone on the local network — no IP address to type. • Chrome's traffic then exits through the phone's mobile data connection. • Press Rotate to have the phone reconnect to the carrier and get a new IP address. The extension waits for the reconnect and confirms the new address. • The panel shows the phone's status, current IP and country, ping and session time. MANAGE YOUR OWN PROXIES • Paste a list in host:port or username:password@host:port format, one per line, with an optional rotation URL, name and note. • The protocol is detected automatically, and each added proxy is checked for status, ping and exit country. • Connect, disconnect or switch with one click. • Saved usernames and passwords are supplied automatically when the proxy asks for them. • If your provider gives you a rotation URL, rotate from the panel, the toolbar icon's right-click menu, or Ctrl+Shift+9 (Cmd+Shift+9 on Mac). • Open the manager in Chrome's side panel to keep it next to the page. CONNECTION CHECK Before showing "connected", 8PROXY compares the IP seen through the proxy with your direct IP. If the proxy is not actually in use — a dead proxy, or another extension controlling Chrome's proxy settings — it tells you instead of showing a false status. The toolbar icon is filled only while a verified proxy is active. PRIVACY Your proxy list, credentials and settings are stored locally in your browser. The extension does not read or change the pages you visit. It sends anonymous usage statistics (installs, connections, rotations, error types) and never your proxies, credentials, IP addresses or browsing activity. The phone is reached directly over your local network. 8PROXY is a proxy manager, not a VPN: it changes the network Chrome's traffic exits from and does not add its own encryption.
