WHAT YOU CAN OPEN We now support far more than STL and OBJ: • STL (binary and ASCII) — the 3D-printing standard • OBJ — common mesh exchange format • 3DS — legacy 3D Studio models • PLY — including per-vertex colors • GLB / glTF — modern format with full materials and embedded textures • 3MF — the modern 3D-printing format with colors and materials COLOR AND TEXTURE, NOT JUST GREY SHAPES Older viewers (including our previous version) showed everything as a single flat color. Now your models render with their own materials: glTF/GLB physically based materials and embedded textures, PLY vertex colors, and 3MF colors all display the way they were designed. Soft, realistic lighting makes detailed models look great straight out of the box. MODEL INFORMATION AND PRINTABILITY CHECKS Every model shows useful details at a glance: • Triangle count and unique vertex count • Watertight check with open-edge detection — quickly see whether a mesh is "manifold" and ready to print, or whether it has holes that need repair • Overall bounding-box size A REAL 3D-PRINTING ESTIMATOR This is more than a viewer — it is a planning tool for makers. Load a model and get an instant estimate of material use and cost: • Pick a material preset (PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU, Nylon, or Resin) to set typical density and price, or enter your own custom values • Set infill percentage, filament diameter, print speed, and price per kilogram • Choose your model units (mm, cm, or inches) so volume, weight, and dimensions are always correct — even for files authored in inches • See estimated weight, filament length, build time, and total print cost update live Your material, units, and printer settings are remembered between sessions, so the estimator is ready to go every time.
