Overview

Automatically saves STL, 3MF and ZIP files from MakerWorld, Printables and Thingiverse into sorted subfolders.

NEW IN VERSION 1.0.7 ▸ My models – an overview of everything you downloaded, with search, a platform filter and sorting by date or name. ▸ 3D preview – click a model to see every file with a thumbnail; STL and 3MF can be rotated, panned and zoomed right in the browser. Rendering happens locally with WebGL, no third-party library, no server involved. ▸ Trash – deleted models move to a _Trash_ folder and can be restored from there. It is only emptied by hand. ▸ Open in Explorer – every model gets a button that opens its folder in Windows (optional, set up once). ▸ Progress bar – shows on the website which file is currently running. Stop the chaos in your downloads folder. 3D Model Auto-Downloader sorts your 3D printing files (STL, 3MF, GCODE, PDF) and ZIP archives from MakerWorld, Printables and Thingiverse automatically, as you download them. Instead of dropping everything loose into your downloads folder, every model gets its own clean subfolder. Just download a model the way you always do – the extension detects it and files everything where it belongs. SUPPORTED SITES – Thingiverse (individual files as well as "Download All" archives) – MakerWorld (Bambu Lab) – Printables (Prusa) YOUR FOLDER, NOT CHROME'S You decide where the files go – any folder on any drive, your NAS included. The extension writes straight there, without the detour through Chrome's downloads folder and without a save-as dialog, even when "Ask where to save each file before downloading" is switched on in Chrome. HOW IT WORKS 1. Pick a target folder once. 2. Download a model on any of the supported sites. 3. Done – the files land sorted in their own folder, and ZIP archives are unpacked on the way. HOW TO REACH THE 3D PREVIEW 1. Click the extension's icon in the Chrome toolbar. 2. Choose "My models" – the overview of all your models opens. 3. Click a model. On the left you get every file in its folder, each with a thumbnail. 4. Click an STL or 3MF file and it appears large beside the list. Drag = rotate, right mouse button = pan, wheel = zoom. Under "Appearance" you can adjust colour, background and lighting; your settings are remembered. YOUR DATA STAYS WITH YOU No account, no sign-in, no analytics, no ads. The extension sends nothing to any server – it works solely on your machine, with the folder you point it at. The 3D preview also runs locally; no file ever leaves your computer.
