Overview

See any page the way search engines do: title, meta description, headings, links, schema, tracking tags and plain-English fixes.

Most SEO tools tell you what is wrong. This one tells you what to do about it. SEO Lens shows you any web page the way a search engine sees it, then sorts the problems into a plain-English list you can actually work through. No jargon, no score out of 100, no upsell to an audit. Click the icon, read the list, fix the first thing. It was built by 20 Minute Marketing, a training company for small business owners, because every other tool in this space assumes you already know what a canonical tag is. WHAT YOU SEE WHEN YOU CLICK FIXES The first thing you see is a prioritised list of what is actually wrong with the page, sorted into Fix first, Worth doing, and Nice to have. Each one tells you what the problem is, why it matters in plain language, and the single action that fixes it. It catches things like: - Pages accidentally hidden from Google - Missing or truncated title tags - No analytics installed at all - Retired tracking code that no longer collects anything - Sites with no HTTPS - Pages that are not set up for mobile - No way for a customer to get in touch - No clear call to action in the first screenful - Phone numbers that cannot be tapped on a phone - Missing business schema - Images with no alt text - No social share image PAGE The technical detail, laid out simply. Title tag and meta description with live character counts and a visual budget bar so you can see at a glance when you have gone over. Canonical URL, robots directives, page language, character set, viewport, hreflang, HTTPS status, and word count. Internal links, external links, nofollow links, links with no anchor text, total images, and how many are missing alt text. HEADINGS The full H1 to H6 outline of the page, indented so you can see the structure at a glance. Headings that are hidden by CSS are shown struck through, which is how you catch the ones search engines can see but visitors cannot. LOCAL Built for service businesses, trades, clinics, salons, cafes, and anyone whose customers search with a suburb attached. Shows whether the page carries a business name, an address, and a phone number, and whether that phone number is a tappable link. Checks for a contact form. Then the local search signals: LocalBusiness schema and what type, opening hours, map coordinates, linked social profiles, review or rating markup, and an embedded map. It also prints the address exactly as it appears on the page, so you can compare it word for word against your Google Business Profile. Mismatched addresses are one of the most common and most invisible local SEO problems there is. TRACKING Shows whether the page is running any analytics, advertising or session recording tags at all, and displays the account identifier where one is present so you can confirm it is the right account. This is the tab that produces the most uncomfortable discoveries. Plenty of businesses are spending real money on advertising while their measurement has quietly not worked for months. SEO Lens also flags retired tracking code that is still sitting in the page doing nothing. The same tab shows the social sharing tags that control how your page looks when someone posts a link to it, plus any structured data types found on the page. A WEEKLY TIP, IF YOU WANT ONE SEO Lens includes 60 short marketing tips written for small business owners. If you leave the feature switched on, your browser shows you one each Tuesday morning. One idea, one action, and a link to a full guide if you want to go deeper. They cover local listings, reviews, keyword research, website speed, email, content and advertising. The tips are stored inside the extension. Nothing is downloaded, nothing is reported back, and we have no idea whether you read them. You can switch them off any time from the Tip tab. ALSO INCLUDED - Copy report: one click copies the full findings as plain text, ready to paste into an email to your web developer or into your own notes - Shortcuts to the page speed and structured data testing tools, and to the site's robots.txt file - Works on any website, including your competitors' WHO THIS IS FOR Small business owners who look after their own website and want to know what is actually wrong with it. Tradies and local service businesses who need to show up in the map results. Marketers and freelancers who want a fast on-page check without opening a full audit tool. Web developers who want to hand a client a plain-English list instead of a spreadsheet. Anyone who has been told their site "needs SEO" and would like to see for themselves what that means. YOUR PRIVACY SEO Lens does not collect anything about you. - It reads the page you are on only when you click the icon - Everything is processed inside your own browser - Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else, ever - There is no account, no login, no server, and no database - We do not track your browsing history - We do not use cookies, analytics, or advertising tags inside the extension - We do not sell or transfer user data, because we do not collect any The only thing stored is your weekly tip preference, kept in your own browser, which we cannot see. Full privacy policy: https://www.20minutemarketing.com.au/privacy-policy PERMISSIONS, EXPLAINED activeTab - lets the extension look at the tab you are viewing, at the moment you click the icon, and only then. scripting - lets it read the page's existing code so it can show you the elements listed above. It does not change the page. notifications - lets your browser show the weekly tip. This is what causes the "display notifications" message you see when installing. It is used for the tip and nothing else. alarms - schedules the weekly tip for Tuesday morning. storage - remembers whether you want the tip, on your own device. SEO Lens asks for no access to your browsing history, your other tabs, your bookmarks, or any specific websites. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO Being straight with you about the limits: - It checks one page at a time. It is not a site-wide crawler. - It reads the page as your own browser rendered it, which can differ from what a search crawler sees. - It does not check for broken links across your site, or compare you against competitors. - It does not report your rankings. Your search console account is the source for that, and it is free. - Tags are detected from the page code. A tag can be present and still be misconfigured. - It gives you a starting point, not a guarantee. Some fixes need someone who knows your website platform. WHO MADE IT 20 Minute Marketing teaches small business owners to run their own digital marketing, one 20-minute lesson at a time. No agency retainer, no jargon, no assumption that you already know this stuff. We built SEO Lens because our students kept asking the same question: how do I know if my website is any good? This is the answer, and it is free. More at https://www.20minutemarketing.com.au FREE, NO ACCOUNT REQUIRED There is no paid tier, no trial, and nothing to sign up for. Install it, use it as long as it is useful, uninstall it if it is not. If something is broken or you want a check added, tell us. We read everything.
