Liusheng Subtitles is a Chrome extension for generating and translating subtitles for web video with ASR and large language models. It is designed for streaming video, films and series, anime, courses, interviews, talks, and other web videos that have no subtitles, incomplete subtitles, or foreign-language subtitles that need translation. Main features: - Discover media sources on the current video page - Process local video files opened directly in the browser - Generate original subtitles with user-configured ASR services - Translate subtitles with user-configured LLM services - Switch between translated text, original text, and bilingual display - Show subtitles as a page overlay and in the Chrome side panel - Edit translated cues, adjust subtitle timing, and delete incorrect subtitle segments - Import SRT, VTT, ASS/SSA, and extension JSON subtitle files - Export generated subtitles as SRT - Cache generated subtitles locally - Configure OpenAI Whisper, Groq Whisper, xAI Grok, Fun-ASR, and custom ASR endpoints - Configure OpenAI-compatible, Anthropic-compatible, and other LLM translation endpoints The extension interface currently supports Chinese and English. API keys, model profiles, task state, and subtitle caches are stored in your local browser. Liusheng Subtitles does not send videos, subtitle caches, or API keys to a developer-operated server. Audio clips and subtitle text are sent only to the ASR and translation services that you configure. Some encrypted, DRM-protected, cross-origin restricted, or platform-specific media sources may not be processable. Please use Liusheng Subtitles only with video content that you are allowed to access and process.
