A cat-rescue Chrome extension that counts only your tabs, without reading URLs or browsing history.

TabNeko is a Chrome extension that helps you gently notice when you have too many tabs open. The cat in the popup changes its condition based on the number of tabs currently open. When you have only a few tabs, the cat looks calm and healthy. As the number grows, the cat starts to look a little tired. When there are too many tabs, the cat gets buried under boxes and looks like it needs a break. When you close tabs, the cat looks relieved. If you clean up many tabs in a short time, a small memorial-style cleanup message may appear. Main features: - Shows your current number of open tabs - Changes the cat’s condition based on your tab count - Shows short reactions when tabs are opened or closed - Shows a relieved cat when you clean up tabs - Compact popup UI - Optional separate window mode - Optional overwork notification Privacy-friendly by design: - Does not collect URLs - Does not collect page titles - Does not collect browsing history - Does not collect cookies or form input - Does not read page content - Does not send data to external servers - Stores data only in Chrome’s local storage TabNeko looks only at the number of tabs, not what is inside them. It is designed for people who want a light, low-pressure way to notice tab overload without exposing their browsing activity.
