Translate Anywhere is a versatile translation extension for Google Chrome. Simply select text on any page to open a translation window, where you can switch between three translation engines — Google Translate, DeepL, and ChatGPT (GPT-5.5 / GPT-5.4-mini / GPT-5.4-nano) — with a single click and translate across more than 35 languages. It also supports AI-powered proofreading and editing, as well as freeform text transformation via custom prompts, making it a comprehensive multilingual text-processing tool that goes well beyond simple translation. ■ Main Features 【Text Selection Translation】 This is the core feature of Translate Anywhere. Just select text on a web page and choose "Translate text" from the right-click menu — a floating translation window appears right on the page. The selected text is automatically placed in the input field, and the translation is shown immediately. The translation window can be dragged freely to reposition it, and resized using the handle in the bottom-right corner. You can check translations without interrupting your work on the page. Translation also works for text selected inside input fields (input / textarea), so it works smoothly even while you're filling out a form. 【Popup Translation Window】 Clicking the toolbar icon in the top-right of the browser opens a popup-style translation window. This is handy when you want to freely type in text and translate it without selecting anything first. The window size can be customized from the settings screen. With the "Open in full screen" button, you can also expand it to full screen as a browser tab. 【Full-Page Translation】 Using Google Translate's page-translation feature, the entire page is translated while preserving its structure and layout. This is invaluable when you want to read an entire foreign news site or technical document. Just choose a language from the "Translate page" button to start with a single click. The "Direct Translation" feature can also apply translation directly on a per-element basis. * The Direct feature is scheduled to be discontinued. 【Freely Switch Between Three Translation Engines】 Using the engine-switch button in the translation window's title bar, you can switch between the following translation engines with a single click. Google Translate — Free to use and supporting 35 languages. It also offers automatic source-language detection, making it ideal for everyday translation. DeepL — Lets you use DeepL, widely acclaimed as a high-accuracy translation engine. It supports 36 languages, with fine-grained handling of regional variants such as English (UK/US), Portuguese (Brazil/Europe), and Chinese (Simplified/Traditional). Automatic detection is also supported. Points are required to use it. ChatGPT — Translation powered by OpenAI's large language models. You can choose from three models — GPT-5.5, GPT-5.4-mini, and GPT-5.4-nano — for natural, context-aware translations. It supports 35 languages and automatic detection. Points are required to use it. 【AI Proofreading & Editing】 With the ABC button available when the ChatGPT engine is selected, you can use AI-powered text-processing features. Beyond translation, you can transform your input text to suit a variety of purposes. Proofread for business — Refines your text into expressions suited to formal business documents. Proofread while preserving style — Corrects grammatical errors and unnatural phrasing while keeping the original style and tone. Proofread for casual use — Refines your text into a friendly, casual style. Simplify text — Trims redundant expressions to make your content compact. Edit text — Performs a comprehensive check and correction of grammar, vocabulary, and expression. 【Custom Prompts】 You can freely set up to three custom prompts on the settings screen. "Convert text to gyaru slang," "Translate into slangy English," "Check how a program behaves," "Create prompts for image-generation AI" — and much more, limited only by your imagination. The prompts you set can be called up instantly from the ABC button's menu, and each can be given a title for easy management. 【Dark Theme】 The translation window and popup support a dark theme. You can choose from three modes. Auto-switch — Switches automatically in sync with your browser or OS theme settings. Force dark theme — Always displays in dark theme. Dark theme off — Always displays in light theme. 【Supported Languages】 Google Translate and ChatGPT support 35 languages, and DeepL supports 36. Japanese, English, Chinese (Simplified/Traditional), Korean, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Arabic, Dutch, Polish, Czech, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Greek, Bulgarian, Romanian, Ukrainian, Hindi, Indonesian, Vietnamese, and more. The languages used by each translation engine can be customized individually from the settings screen. By narrowing down the languages shown in the dropdown, you can quickly access the ones you use most. 【Extension UI Languages】 The Translate Anywhere interface is available in the following nine languages. 日本語 / English / Deutsch / Español / Français / 한국어 / Português (Brasil) / Русский / 简体中文 It can match your browser's language settings automatically, or you can switch it manually from the settings screen. 【Handy Features】 Copy translation results — Copy the translated text to the clipboard with a single click using the copy button, ready to paste straight into emails or chats. Show/hide can be toggled in the settings. Swap text — Swap the source and result top-to-bottom. This is useful for checking the reverse translation, or for translating a result into yet another language. Swapping the source and target languages left-to-right is also supported. Toggle the source text area — Use the toggle button to hide the source text area and display the translation in a larger space. Resize text areas — Drag the handle between the source and result to freely adjust the height of each text area. Font size setting — Customize the font size of the text areas in pixels. Translate local files — Turn on "Allow access to file URLs" in the Chrome extension settings to use the translation features even on local HTML files and the like. Auto-translation control — Options to disable automatic translation when text is selected, or to stop automatic translation on engines that consume points, help you avoid unintended point usage. Automatic fallback when points run low — If you're short on points for DeepL or ChatGPT, the extension automatically switches to Google Translate to continue translating. Auto-scroll on re-translation — An option to automatically scroll the translation window to the translated location when you re-translate on a page. 【Point System】 Translation and proofreading via DeepL and ChatGPT require points. You can manage your points from the settings screen. Free point distribution — Free points are distributed each month on a first-come, first-served basis. When points are available to claim, a notification appears and you can claim them with a single button. Points are valid for 30 days after you receive them. Purchasing points — You can purchase points via Stripe. Various credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay are supported, as well as QR-code payment from a smartphone. Prepaid numbers — Register a prepaid number to add points.
