Built for students, developers, professionals, and anyone who struggles with staying focused online. >=PlayingFild helps you stay focused without blocking whole websites. Instead of treating every website as good or bad, it looks at what you're actually doing and helps manage tab overload, focus sessions, timers, and distractions. The Origin Story As a developer with dyslexia (and probably ADHD), standard blocking tools always felt super punishing. They force you to block massive platforms like YouTube or Twitter entirely, without understanding the context of what you're actually doing. That frustration led me to uninstall them and create my own solution one that actually helps me (and hopefully you) get work done. Who It's For If this can keep an ADHD leaning brain on track, it can help anyone. Whether you're neurodivergent or just find it hard to stay focused online, this tool keeps your workspace clean without locking you out of sites you need for work. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ How it works ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ =PlayingFild is one system. These parts work together: • Smart tab sorting: Learns from your browsing to guess if a tab is productive, neutral, or unproductive. it cares about context, behaviour, and your goals. • Focus stats: Tracks active time so your dashboard and tab order reflect how you really work. • Limits & timers: Set tab caps, unproductive time budgets, and study timers. Tabs can auto close only when you turn those rules on. • Study break credit: Earn break time on productive sites during a study session, then spend it when you're ready. • Earn / spend mode (optional): Pick sites that earn time and sites where you're allowed to spend it. Other tabs get a gentle overlay not a hard block. • Tab shields: Pin important tabs so they won't be closed automatically. • Session restore (optional): Save your tabs when you close a window and reopen them in a fresh one. • Cloud backup (optional): Sign in to sync settings across devices. Everything works offline without an account. • Built-in controls: Dashboard, toolbar popup, and a small on-page indicator for timer/closer status. The system gets smarter through your feedback. If it makes the wrong call, you can correct it and it adapts. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Privacy (plain English) ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Sign in unlocks the engine you choose how much leaves your device. After sign in, you pick a privacy mode: • Local mode: Classification runs on your device. Your page text, full URLs, and browsing patterns are not sent to our servers. No cloud telemetry. • Standard mode: Same local engine, plus optional sync and small anonymised signals to improve the shared classifier. Never raw page content, never passwords, never banking or webmail. Sensitive sites are skipped entirely. • We collect anonymised interaction data to train our 'Human-Centric' model. We filter out bots to ensure that when we classify a site as 'Productive,' it’s based on actual human focus patterns, not automated noise. We don't sell your data or use it for ads. Permissions in short: • Tabs / scripting / web navigation: Read tab info and show on-page UI (timers, feedback, overlays) on sites you visit. • Storage / alarms: Save your settings and run timers in the background. • Notifications: Alerts you turn on for limits and timers. • Idle: Pauses timers when you step away from the keyboard. • All websites: Needed so the extension works on whatever site you're on, sensitive sites are handled with extra care. We never sell your browsing data.
